Esther 4: 14 (MSG)
“if you persist in staying silent at a time like this, help and deliverance will come for Jews from someplace else; but you and your family will be wiped out. Who knows? Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this.”
For a few years now God has led me to the book of Esther, teaching me something new each time. At the time I did not understand the significance of understanding the story of this woman, I did not understand the significnace of clothing myself with the her journey, I did not realise that each time God was taking me back to give me a new revelation of who Esther was, a woman of purpose. A woman whose journey was about purpose meeting opportunty and the appointed time of God. A woman of Devine elevation. The kind of woman I needed to become. The kind of woman God wanted me to testify about becoming and lastly the kind of woman God wanted me to encourage other women to step into becoming.
The time has come. That appointed time of God. The time of revelation. The time of Esther to be birthed in the young women of this generation. In the above verse we see a clear importance placed on time. The time had come for Esther to stand up and be the one through whom the deliverance of her people had to come, the time when Esther had to come out of hiding and be honest about her identity and clear about her assignment. The time for her purpose to be birthed, to be revealed.
Similarly, now is the time for the purposeful elevation of Esther to be revealed in us. In you. On condition that you don’t remain silent in this season that requires your boldness, that requires you to step up to your divine assignment. Your calling.
In this scripture we see that when God elevates or chooses to elevate one person it doesn’t mean that He can’t or won’t raise up another person to fulfil that mission, if you refuse to step up God will raise up another Esther in that space to be a vessel for the fulfilment of His mission. When God raises you up you need to recognise that it is your time for purpose and promise to meet an opportunity to be ceased.
“…but you and your family will be wiped out.”
There are consequences to missing that opportunity to fulfil your assignment and the consequences won’t just fall upon you but on those you care about as well. So God will raise someone else to replace you because the assignment needs to be fulfilled but you will pay a price for refusing to meet God at His place of appointment with you. When God positions you, He expects to find you where He placed you, ready and willing to meet Him and to be told what to do next. Ready to serve. Ready to honour your assignment. If God returns only to find you moved or unready and unwilling, you will lose His favour and pay the price. You need to honour God before He can honour you. You honour Him by living in consistent obedience and submission.
Purpose and Elevation
Esther’s assignment was to bring deliverance to her people. She became queen for this sole purpose. Without her assignment there was no elevation. God elevates you for His glory not for yourself. He elevates you for His names sake. God pours favour upon you in order for the assignment to be fulfilled better, not for you. So essentially we can say that purpose isn’t about you, it’s about submitting to God’s will in order to meet a need His people need met. Purpose is selfless. Follow the story of any man or woman of God in the bible who had a mission/assignment and you’ll see the pattern.
The time is here. The time for living purposeful lives, the time for God to reveal exactly why we are where we are and why we had to go through everything we have gone through. We have been positioned exactly where we are for such a time as this. Are you ready? Will you step up? Are you willing? She is Purpose is birthed from this place, it is a space for Esthers at any stage of their journeys to learn and grow together, to encourage and be encouraged, to step into their purpose with a solid support structure. This is God’s time over your life, will He find you ready?
